What it is
In an All-on-4 or All-on-6 treatment, the remaining teeth in one jaw are removed if needed, and four to six implants are placed. A fixed temporary bridge is usually attached within a few days. After healing, a final bridge (often zirconia or acrylic on a titanium bar) replaces it.
This is major surgery. A full medical history, a 3D scan and a careful plan matter more than the price. Ask how many of these cases the surgeon has done, and who will look after you at home if something goes wrong.
Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and some medicines (for example certain bone medicines) raise the risk. Tell the clinic about every medicine you take.
A typical schedule
- Trip 1, day 1
Examination, 3D scan, medical history reviewed, plan confirmed.
- Trip 1, day 2
Extractions if needed, implants placed.
- Trip 1, day 3–6
Fixed temporary bridge fitted, checks.
- 3–6 months
Healing at home on soft food. Temporary bridge in place.
- Trip 2
Final bridge designed, tried in and fitted over about a week.
A typical pattern only. The clinic sets your real schedule after the examination. Try the holiday planner to see it as a trip.
Questions worth asking
- How many full-arch cases has the surgeon done, and can I see anonymised case photos?
- Which implants, and what is the final bridge made of?
- Is sedation available, and who monitors it?
- What happens if one implant fails during healing?
- What does aftercare look like once I am home?
